Party-goers will be treated to a free music festival this weekend that promises to showcase music from all corners of the world. ‘Sounds Of The World’ is a celebration of global music and culture in the heart of Wembley Park. This free concert will take place on the Sound Shell stage on Olympic Way, in front of Wembley Stadium, from 1pm to 5pm on Sunday 4 August.

Wembley Park will be transformed into a melting pot of talented artists from around the world, while revelers can enjoy themselves an “eclectic mix” of music and dance styles, including Lithuanian folk music, lively rhythms of Italian jazz classics and Tanzanian Afrobeats.

Kate Jones, Program Director, said: “This event embodies our commitment to celebrating diversity and bringing world-class performances to London and beyond. It is a unique opportunity for visitors to experience a variety of cultures through music and dance, all in one afternoon, for free, in such an iconic location.”

At 13:00 the event starts Bhangra drummer group Dhol2Dhol. Hailing from Wembley, the group will give an energetic performance using the dhol, a powerful drum deeply rooted in the Punjabi tradition from northern India and Pakistan.

The group will be followed by Emilija Karaliute, a Lithuanian harpist and singer known for mixing Baltic folk traditions with contemporary music. Karaliute has twice been recognized as a National Laureate of Lithuania and her performances often feature the kanklas, a traditional Lithuanian plucked string instrument.

The Italian Radio Society, a five-piece band, will bring to life the vibrant sounds of 1950s Italy with a mix of jazz, swing, rockabilly and southern Italian folk music. Their performance promises a journey through the diverse musical landscape of mid-20th century Italy.

Carlos Morgado, a virtuoso classical Spanish guitarist, will also perform traditional and modern Spanish compositions. For over two decades, Morgado has collaborated with international artists such as Luis Fonsi, Laura Pausini, Sergio Dalma, Miguel Bosé, David Summers, Bustamante, Mitch Malloy and more.

Closing out the event, Latin American rock duo Alma Latina – comprised of Cuban singer-songwriter Yuri Moreno and guitarist Paul Rumbol – will fill the air with sultry Havana sounds.
