What is the Priority Services Register?
The Priority Services Register is a free service that provides extra advice and support, even when your electricity is interrupted. We know power outages don’t happen often, but if they do by registering you and your family will get extra support including:
- A 24 hour helpline
- SMS and voice messages
- A dedicated team that can keep you updated during a power outage
- Tailored support such as home visits, hot meals, advice and keeping your friends and relatives updated if we can’t get the power back on quickly

The Priority Services Register is a service that your network operator UK Power Networks provides to ensure that if you ever have a problem with your electricity, extra support is provided if you need it.
They also work with water and other energy companies to make registration easier. Energy companies offer similar support for customers in vulnerable situations.
Where possible, they’ll sign you up to their Priority Services too, so you only need to sign up once to get support from all your utilities should there ever be an outage to your energy or water supply.
