A ‘freaking huge’ bar of Cadbury Dairy Milk is currently so cheap it beats the major supermarkets. The 850g Cadbury Dairy Milk gift bar is down to £6.50 on Amazon (76p per 100g), from its original £11.49.

Going direct from Cadbury would set you back £13.50 (though it comes with a Happy Birthday message on it). It’s also cheaper than getting the 360g bar from Tesco (£4.50, £1.25 per 100g), Sainsbury’s and Asda 180g (both £2, £1.11 per 100g).

On top of that, Amazon Prime members can get the bar delivered to them without leaving their home – and with Amazon Prime Day around the corner, it may be a good option. The chocolate bar is Cadbury’s flagship brand, made with 100 per cent sustainable cocoa.

The size makes it ideal as a gift or you can store it for a continuous snack. Customers are very happy with the size and quality of the chocolate bar, coming in at 4.8 out of 26,055 reviews – 22,667 of them being five star.

One person said: “Lovely thick dairy milk chocolate. Makes a great present for those that love chocolate. Decent value for money considering the novelty of it.” Another said: “This was on offer so a great price, well packaged and arrive a lot earlier than expected. Use by date was about 6 months so plenty of time to enjoy.”

A third remarked: “Got this for my husband for Valentines day, the only thing he said would make it better for him would have been if they were separated into smaller packets inside, I thought the huge packet was great!!”

Of those who complained, it was mainly due to the package being delivered faulty. One person said: “Good product but the box was damaged and the bar is snapped. Bought this for a Christmas present and I’ve had to bin the outer box which is disappointing as it made it look more like a gift.”

If you want a bit more chocolate variety than the giant Dairy Milk Bar, Amazon also sell a 2kg box of Quality Street for £21.99, down from £25.99. This comes to £1.10 per 100g – cheaper than Tesco (£3.50/£1.59 per 100g) including on Clubcard (£3, £1.36 per 100g). Or you can get the Kinder Happy Moments box for £18.28, which includes Kinder Dark Chocolate and Milk, Kinder Bueno, Kinder Bueno White and Kinder Schokobons.
