Couple relaxing near the lake in Hyde Park, London

Londoners, it’s time to celebrate: our city’s green spaces have officially taken the crown as the UK’s most popular. From sprawling ancient woodlands to panoramic hilltop views, London’s parks are icons in their own right, with the data to prove it!

In a recent study by Idealo, the company crunched the numbers by using park ratings, monthly Google searches, and social media posts to determine which parks the nation can’t stop raving about. The results? Three of London’s parks have snatched the medals by sweeping the top three spots.

Yes, that’s right. Richmond Park, Hyde Parkand Greenwich Park have come out on top as the UK’s most popular parks, with Hampstead Heath coming in at a very respectable number five, just after Sefton Park in Liverpool.

Richmond Park was declared the most popular park in Britainscoring an epic 4.7 rating out of a possible five, racking up over 503,000 Instagram posts and nearly 10,000 TikToks.

It’s no surprise that the beloved Royal Park has the crown –with this 2,500-acre expanse jam-packed with rolling landscapes, fields of red and fellow deear, as well as other natural phenomena like ancient oaks and chestnut trees, Learn more about the park by checking out our guide, here.

When it comes to the other contenders here in London, Hyde Park is the city’s most Googled green space with a whopping 450,000 searches per month. That of course, is no surprise, with the beloved park being a playground for all, throughout all the seasons.

You can take a swim in the Serpentine, picnic by the Rose Garden, or even have a rip-roaring evening at Winter Wonderland during the festive season – emphasising that London parks aren’t just popular, but essential parts of the community.

Here’s the full list of the UK’s most popular parks:

  2. Hyde Park (London)
  3. Greenwich Park (London)
