Fans are disappointed after the rumours Five Nights at Freddy’s (FNAF) and Fortnite the collaboration was apparently cancelled.
FNAF and Fortnite have quickly emerged as two of the biggest names in gaming, and neither franchise is no stranger to the occasional partnership.
Is it FNAF You get the full-length movie adaptation or Epic Games’ multiplayer, which includes familiar faces from almost every major IP, both games have spread beyond digital borders often after release.
The FNAF x Fortnite rumors seem to have stopped
After rumors a FNAF and Fortnite colab started rolling online, two gaming megahits aren’t necessarily partners.
Speculation on the subject Five Nights at Freddy’s characters coming Fortnite started to be popular at the end of July Fortnite a leaker at HypeX X (formerly Twitter) posted that he had heard the word a FNAF-themed content update coming on August 6:
“NEW UPDATE CONFIRMED AUGUST 6
There is a *rumored* FNAF x Fortnite collaboration since FNAF announced that they have a “Secret Collaboration” on the same day.
However, this teasing was completely accidental because both Fortnite and FNAF had some exciting collaboration news to share on August 6 – it just wasn’t with each other.
Instead Fortnite the crossover was with another massively popular multiplayer game, Autumn guysbrings the game’s iconic bean characters. FNAFThe news was about the arrival of its characters in the horror-tinged online game Dead in daylight in the summer of 2025.
Although this one in particular FNAF x Fortnite collaboration turned out to be a false alarm, there’s still a good chance that Freddy Fazbear and co. finally get into Epic Game’s multiplayer cash cow.
Fortnite has become a veritable who’s who of popular IP that has collaborated with everything from the NBA Dragon Ball Z.
Considering how popular FNAF the world and characters are, it wouldn’t be surprising if they were brought into the game at some point.
By FNAF creator Scott Cawthon, he has been “very careful with cooperation” for his now beloved game series (via Comicbook):
“I’m very careful with collaborations because I want to protect the brand and make sure ‘Five Nights at Freddy’s’ remains ‘Five Nights at Freddy’s’ and some games, even though I really enjoy the game, it just doesn’t feel… it doesn’t feel right from the match.
He said he wanted to protect his own “brand integrity” but it definitely is “a little more open” for crossovers like he used to be:
“The integrity of the brand is the most important thing to me, and keeping everything as belonging. And that’s really been my only…that’s really been my only hesitation. I feel like I’m branching out a little bit and being a little bit more open to these things than maybe in the early years, but I’m still very careful about that relationship, so let’s see… let’s see how things go.
Although it is still far from certain, it seems only a matter of time before these two brands finally collaborate. It just has to be the right moment for both of you Fortnite and FNAF advertisements.
Fortnite and FNAF are available for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, Mobile and PC.
