One of the unanswered questions on the subject Drop focuses on how Lee Moldaver managed to survive for over 200 years.

Lee Moldaver, played by Sarita Choudhury, is initially introduced as a Raider attacking Vault 33’s vault dwellers.

As the Prime Video series progresses, Moldaver’s complex backstory is slowly revealed, leading fans to question who he really is.

How did the Moldaver survive the apocalypse?

Lee Moldaver is an intimidating presence right from his first appearance Drop, and many already assumed he’s a full-on villain after leading the Raiders on a killing spree in Vault 32 (aka Lucy’s home).

However, things took a turn Drop Episode 7 when it was revealed that Moldaver was really Miss Williams before the Great War (200 years ago). He even met Cooper Howard (not as a ghost) at one of the anti-Vault Tec meetings.

Surviving more than 200 years ago is almost impossible in the world Drop, unless you’re a Ghoul like Cooper. Not only that, but Moldaver appears to be the same age as when viewers last saw her as Miss Williams.

While the series didn’t clearly explain how Moldaver survived all these years, there are several theories as to how he still existed.

DropThe finale revealed that Vault-Tec has cryo-freezing technology that allows the leaders of Bud’s Buds to freeze themselves for long periods of time.

Moldaver may have access to the same technology as his research was taken over by the Vault-Tec Corporation earlier.

He could even be one of the pioneers behind the cryo-freezing technique because he participated in cold fusion research.

Wait, is the Moldaver a synthesizer from the Fallout Games?

Although the Moldaver has lived for over 200 years, it is still strong and active in the wasteland.

Some theorize that Moldaver in Drop series is an advanced version of the Synth from the games.

For the uninitiated, Sins (aka synthetic humanoids) are biomechanical creatures indistinguishable from humans.

Moldaver may have found a way to transfer his consciousness to the sinhound, which could explain why he’s still alive.

Another working theory as to why the Moldaver survived the apocalypse is the fact that he was able to develop a serum that allowed him to extend his lifespan, similar to what the Ghoul breathes. The only advantage is that there are no physical disadvantages.
