When will Fallout 4’s next-gen update be released?
Fallout 4’s next-gen update launches as a free update on all platforms on April 25 . Most of the changes are apparently aimed at PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series
Fallout 4 next gen update technology improvements
Like other next-gen upgrades, Fallout 4 gets technological improvements thanks to the superior hardware of the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. Bethesda didn’t reveal any details in the announcement, but here’s what players can expect:
- Performance Mode and Quality Mode Settings
- Stability improvements and fixes
- Up to 60 FPS and improved resolution
What’s new in Fallout 4’s next-gen update
In addition to skill upgrades, Fallout 4’s free update adds new content to the game, including Creation Club items.

This brings the pre-war organization The Enclave into Fallout 4’s story through a new mission called Echoes of the Past. Also add:

Provisional weapons package
This weapon pack allows players to use certain everyday objects as threat weapons depending on the situation. Examples mentioned in the presentation include baseball launchers, nail guns and piggy banks.
halloween workshop
Whether you want to decorate for Halloween or just want the spooky season to happen year-round, the Halloween Workshop adds seasonal decorations to your Fallout 4 settlements. Said to have originated from an ill-fated Halloween party hosted by the New England Society of Technocrats, the party included 38 decorations, including witches, cauldrons and ghouls.
What PC players can expect in the Fallout 4 Update
Fallout 4 for PC will be significantly improved to reflect the latest technology released in the nine years since the game launched. The content of this is as follows:
- Support for widescreen and ultrawidescreen
- Edit creation kit
- Various mission updates
- Stability, mods and bug fixes
- Fixed Bethesda.net login issues for Japanese and Chinese players
