The CEO of Groucho Club’s owner is said to be leaving the company by January, after nearly four years in the role.

Ewan Venters is resigning as CEO of Artfarm Hospitality Group.

The former Fortnum & Mason boss, who currently runs the Groucho Club owner, is expected to leave the company in January or earlier if a replacement is found.

Founded in 2014 by Iwan and Manuela Wirth, the Swiss art dealers behind Hauser & Wirth, Artfarm brought on Venters as CEO in January 2021. Venters’ role is focused on overseeing and expanding the hospitality division of the business.

During Venters’ tenure as CEO, Artfarm made significant moves, including the £40m acquisition of London’s Groucho Club. In addition, the company has begun development of its first private members’ club outside of London in Yorkshire, with plans to open in 2026.

Venters said: “It has been an incredible experience working with the teams at Artfarm and Hauser & Wirth during the significant growth of both businesses. As I step down to pursue new opportunities, I look forward to their future achievements.

Artfarm’s portfolio includes the Fife Arms in Braemer, the Mount St restaurant in London Mayfair and the recently launched Da Costa in Bruton.
