After publication Furiosa: The Mad Max SagaAustralian megastar Chris Hemsworth remains busy with a handful of new film and TV credits over the next few years.
Over the past decade and change, Hemsworth rose through the ranks of Hollywood with work in several major franchises that stand out on the pop culture landscape.
Most recently, Hemsworth took on the responsibility of playing the evil Dementus Furiosa: The Mad Max Saga alongside Anya Taylor-Joy, though it’s far from her last confirmed project in the coming years
Chris Hemsworth’s upcoming movies and TV shows
That being said, below are five new movies and TV shows starring Chris Hemsworth in 2024 and beyond.
Transformers One
Hemsworth joins his three Marvel Studios co-stars Scarlett Johansson, Brian Tyree Henry and Laurence Fishburne. He moves into the animated genre, taking on the iconic voice of Autobot leader Optimus Prime. Transformers One.
This film acts as a prequel to Michael Bay’s first film Transformers film from 2007, where Hemsworth replaced the legendary Peter Cullen as a younger version of Optimus, who leads the early battle on Cybertron.
Paramount released the first full trailer Transformers One in April, showcasing Hemsworth’s speaking engagements in this new role ahead of the film’s September 20 debut.
Along with Joe and Anthony Russo, Chris Hemsworth took on the role of Tyler Rake in the 2020s. Extraction and 2023 Picking 2with Removal 3 confirmation development a day after its predecessor debuted on Netflix.
While story details for this new outing were not released, Hemsworth has been confirmed to return as the black market mercenary and former Australian special agent for a third time.
Hulk Hogan Biography
First announced in 2019 for a possible Netflix release, it was announced that Chris Hemsworth would co-star Joker director Todd Phillips is developing a biopic centered around iconic WWF and WWE wrestler Hulk Hogan.
While updates on the development have been few and far between, Hemsworth plays Hulk Hogan in this film, rising even above his MCU level and diving into one of wrestling’s most legendary figures from the 1980s.
What if…? season 3 (rumored)
Although he has yet to be confirmed, Hemsworth is rumored to return to the MCU voice booth for a third time as Thor, in The God of Thunder Season 3. What if…? on Disney+.
He had a major supporting role in Season 1 as a member of The Guardians of the Multiverse before appearing in three new episodes at the end of Season 2 in late 2023.
No stories or storylines have been confirmed for any of the characters What if…? Season 3, but it would be shocking if Hemsworth didn’t reprise his MCU role in this animated series.
Avengers 5
by Marvel Studios Avengers 5 is undergoing major fundamental changes due to Jonathan Majors firing from the MCU (see more about the film’s confirmed title change). However, that shouldn’t stop Chris Hemsworth from once again establishing himself as the God of Thunder, as he did in the first four installments of the franchise.
Before shooting Majors, Hemsworth responded to a comment about the fight between Kang the Conqueror and Thor and teased how ready he is to return to his latest MCU ensemble outing. While the story is being reworked and details of what will happen are unknown, the MCU’s current longest-running actor should have a place in this movie no matter what happens.
Avengers: Secret Wars
No matter what happens inside Avengers 5, Avengers: Secret Wars is set to be the biggest crossover event in MCU history that has been inspired Secret Wars story from Marvel Comics.
While story details are not yet publicly known, it would be shocking if Hemsworth didn’t return as Thor alongside not only the MCU’s finest, but also many characters from previous non-MCU films.
Thor 5
There are currently no official or rumored plans for a fifth Thor movie, maybe from 2022 Thor: Love and Thunder ended with that promise “Thor Returns” after its credits.
In addition, Love and Thunder Director Taika Waititi apparently leaked that Hemsworth was already in talks for the film, meaning it may already be in the works behind the scenes.
This sequel is likely to continue Love and Thunder‘s post-credits teasing that introduced Ted LassoBrett Goldstein as the MCU’s Hercules ahead of a potential clash with Hemsworth’s veteran hero.
Even if he has conditions, Hemsworth has also expressed his desire to stay in the role and hopefully establish a fifth Thor solo tour since 2010 as fans await more news.
Chris Hemsworth will be seen next Furiosa: The Mad Max Sagawhich opens in theaters on Friday, May 24.
