If the feeling of getting a seat on a rush-hour tube isn’t exhilarating enough for you, listen up. The longest zipline in the whole country is just 40 minutes from the capital city – and it soar does look fun.
Hangloose in Bluewater is where you’ll find the shriek-inducing sky-wire. It’s 724 metres long and reaches a whopping 60mph. Sounds pretty great to me – we Londoners do love to get places quickly, after all.
Prepare to be kitted up and taken on a mini bus to where you’ll take flight. A lift will take you up to the top of the tower. Yes, you read that correctly. A lift is required to reach the zipline starting point because it is that high. 100 metres above the groundto be exact.
You’ll then be strapped in and – before you know it – you’ll be soaring through the air, above the cliff faces and beautiful lakes. It’s as simple terrifying as that.
Within the first 45 seconds, you’ll have reached a speed of over 50mph. You’ll have plenty of time to admire the view though, because did we mention that it’s the longest zipwire in England? Yes? Okay.
If you’re feeling extra brave, you can opt to sail down head-firstSuper-hero style. I honestly can’t decide if that would be absolutely horrifying or the most fun ever. I guess there’s only one way to find out…
A ride on the zipline costs £55 per person. Height, weight and age restrictions apply. Find out more and plan your visit here.
