The first headliner for the annual part of British Summer Time has been announced, and it’s due to be a bittersweet, jubilant celebration of the career of Jeff Lynne’s ELO (Electric Light Orchestra) as the legendary Birmingham act bows out with a final show.

Jeff Lynne’s ELO will take to the stage for their last-ever performance on July 13 at BST Hyde Parkcoming after the ‘Over and Out’ US tour of farewell dates. It’ll be the last chance you have to experience the soaring melody of Mr Blue Sky in a live setting, so you’d better be quick with the keyboards when tickets go on sale this Friday (October 25).

In 2014, Jeff Lynne, founding member of the group, brought ELO back on the road and returned with a performance at Hyde Park, and they will be back eleven years on for the final time. Following the return, ELO were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2017.

Speaking on the shows, Jeff Lynne said: “My return to touring began at Hyde Park in 2014. It seems like the perfect place to do our final show. We couldn’t be more excited to share this special night in London with our UK fans. As the song goes, ‘We’re gonna do it One More Time!’”

A pre-sale for Jeff Lynne’s ELO swan song will take place this Wednesday (October 23) ahead of the general sale, which you can access by signing up here before 9:59pm on October 22.

The announcement of ELO’s final show comes after the sad news earlier this year of the passing of former ELO keyboard player Richard Tandy.

Jeff Lynne’s ELO (Electric Light Orchestra) play their last-ever show at BST Hyde Park next summer on July 13. Tickets go on sale Friday, October 25 at 9am. This is the first announcement for BST Hyde Park 2025, with more to follow in due course.
