Temperatures in London are soaring around 29 degrees. Unless you’re one of the rare few blessed to have air conditioning in their home or office, you’ll want to make sure you have a trusted way of keeping cool.

Luckily for shoppers, brands like Shark and Tower are frequently found in the sales. Now, Dyson lovers can bag £150 off the Hepa Cool Formaldehyde fan that users say works like a “breath of fresh air”.

Usually bought for a pricey £549 the model is reduced to £399. It may seem a high price to pay still, but it’s arguably backed up by its features, from capturing as much as 99.95% of air pollutants to creating an environment that Dyson says “purifies the whole room and cools you”.

Shoppers who bought the Dyson model have raved about the “life-changing” device. One shopper said: “It’s perfect for our small home, and incredibly easy to set up for Wi-Fi and super easy to control whether you use the remote or the app.”

Another shopper said: “This fan is a nice quiet addition to my daughter’s bedroom. We keep it on auto and it’s nice to be able to control it from either the included remote or iPhone app. The smooth stream of air coming out of this is so nice to sit in front of so we put it right next to her bed, it’s also tilt adjustable about 30º forward/back so you can really dial in where you want to point it.

“This filter takes care of the formaldehyde/glue smell from some of my daughter’s room. If I sound like a fan of this fan, I am” while another shopper shared how it works well in both the summer heat and cold winter days: “I have a bedroom that does not stay as cool or warm as the rest of the house so I purchased this to see if I could regulate the temperature better and it works”.

The TP09 model helps keep users comfortably cool during uncomfortable heat and has a continuous circulating function to propel the cooler air around the room. This helps make the whole environment feel cooler and not just blow warm air straight out at you. Amid the glowing reviews, however, some users did post a few negatives with a frequent mention being its ‘cut-in features’.

One shopper said they also owned an older model that let them ‘take full control from the app’ but that ‘this has been changed with the new updates but there wasn’t any mention of it’.

Despite its £399 price tag, it’s no secret that it’s still a rather expensive product, especially if you compare it with cheaper rivals like the £149.99 Shark Flex Breeze. However, it has a crucial function that quietly works in the background to boost air quality.

The Dyson fan is built to pull out formaldehyde from the air, which is especially important for anyone living in a city centre who may have their windows open. The model is also fitted with a HEPA 13 rated filter, which is a regular feature found on many stand-alone air purifiers.

As well as the rival Shark Flex Breeze (which doesn’t pull out pollutants like the Dyson model) shoppers may also want to take a look at a rival Vortex model. The Hot and Cool Fan Heater also has an oscillating feature with 10 different speed settings.
