Below decks star Dylan Pierre De Villiers’ photo with former cast member Cat Baugh is causing confusion. Season 11 of the Bravo series has been quite interesting. It featured a new crew and several dramatic feuds. Most recently, the performance reached its peak when Captain Kerry Titheradge let loose on his Bosun. He fired Jared Woodin to give him time to fix his family issues. After Jared left in episode 7, Captain Kerry made his lead character Ben Willoughby the new Bosun. Then he called Dylan to fill in and made him the third Deckhand.

Dylan joined in Below decks season 11 in episode 8. However, one of her recent photos of Cat hints that the producers may have changed the timeline for the season. In March 2024 Dylan posted a few Instagram stories showing fans her best moments with the crew. One pictured him next to the former Stew Cat, who left the boat before Dylan’s debut. The cat was a big part Below decks season 11. However, he didn’t find his place on the yacht and decided to leave in episode 7. A new photo of Dylan hints that Cat may have quit after joining the crew.

Why is Dylan replacing Jared Woodin under the deck?

Captain Kerry noticed that Jared was unable to concentrate on his work

Below decks season 11 has already contained many dramatic moments. The season has been full of memorable scenes, such as Barbie Pascual’s explosive rivalry with Fraser Olender and Ben’s surprising boating with Marie “Sunny” Marquis. However, the most anticipated moment didn’t happen until episode 7. It wasn’t until Captain Kerry realized that Jared was too distracted by his daughter and didn’t perform well. Captain Kerry made the right decision by letting Jared go and promoting Ben as the new Bosun. With Ben’s sudden promotion leaving the crew with only two Deckhands, the captain called on Dylan to take over.

Dylan meeting Cat may not make sense, but it probably happened behind the scenes. Producers often try to provide viewers with a good story that is easy to understand and enjoy.

However, real events can be confusing and may not fit the format of the show.

Dylan could join while Cat was still on the boat. However the producers may have cut some of these scenes, so fans only focused on the essentials. Jared and Cat’s exit was the focus of discussion in episode 7. Therefore, the producers may have thought that bringing Dylan to viewers later made more sense.

Dylan and Cat’s friendship would have been fun to watch. Cat always felt like she never belonged on the boat, and quit mid-season after a feud with Barbie. However, things could have turned out differently if Dylan and Cat had spent more time together. The third Deckhand and the former stew looked happy in their recent photo together. Dylan even called Cat an amazing person, implying that he looked up to her. Viewers could have seen their friendship blossom if Cat hadn’t left the boat inside Below decks season 11 episode 7
