The chief operating officer of DPD, Justin Pegg, was granted a senior fellow hood from the Institute of Couriers (IOC) at the House of Lords in March 2024.

At the 2024 Institute of Couriers Fellows Gowning event, held on February 29, DPD COO Justin Pegg was among the new fellows who were gowned and awarded in a prestigious IOC ceremony. Pegg was recognised for his contributions to the final mile sector of the express logistics industry via the work of DPD UK.

The IOC event in March was attended by over 200 guests, which included the UK Shadow Minister for Skills, Seema Malhotra. Seema congratulated the sector for its engagement with the apprenticeships in express logistics, driver, sortation, and the new degree candidate starters for L6 degree express manager.

Institute CEO Dr Tracey Worth invited the fellows to form up for the ceremonial gowning while IOC chairman Carl Lomas spoke about the family of fellows in final mile.

The keynote speech was delivered by Nigel Milton, who focused on freight in the air moving to door by express sector. VIP guests included DfT, DEFRA, DfE, and DVSA, Highways England, and regional bodies such as TfL, TFWM, and TfGM.

Carl Lomas MBE, IOC chair, said: “The Institute of Couriers was delighted to recognise Justin Pegg with the honour of presentation of a senior fellows hood at this year’s gowning ceremony.

“It was a privilege to gown Justin Pegg for the most worthy recognition of contributions to express logistics and showing the road of a life’s work with commitment at the highest level.”

The awarding of the senior fellow hood to DPD COO Justin Pegg comes shortly after DPD topped Money Saving Expert’s annual delivery poll. This is the ninth time DPD has topped the MSE poll.
