Frozen the Musical has been warming the hearts of millions since it opened at London‘s Theatre Royal Drury Lane back in 2021. It’s been the recipient of seven WhatsOnStage Awards and four Oliver Awards – but unfortunately, it’s finally time to let it go.
Last week it was announced that the West End show snow stopper will be extended for one last ‘big summer blowout’, before it closes its doors for good on September 8.
The stage adaptation of the smash hit film has music and lyrics by Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez, and a book by Jennifer Lee. It follows the story of sisters, Elsa and Annaas they embark on an icy adventure to save Arendelle from an eternal winter.
Since opening, the 2000-seater Covent Garden theatre has welcomed a whopping 2.8 million audience members – many of which have, of course, come sporting Elsa’s signature sprakly, blue dress. I can neither confirm nor deny if I was one of them.
Michael Grandage‘s magical production has excited, delighted, and wrapped its audience members in a warm hug for almost three yearsand now, tickets are available for the final leg of the run.
For the first last time in forever, you have a chance to see this brrr-illiant musical, and I highly recommend that you seize that opportunity with open arms.

Whilst Frozen the Musical will complete its West End run in September, Disney Theatrical Group is set to launch a competition for secondary schools throughout the UK. The United Kingdom of Frozen: Love is an Open Door will give schools across the country the opportunity to win the stage rights and put on their own full-length production of the show.
