100 years of Disney magic will be celebrated in a special concert featuring a live orchestra in London this summer. Disney In Concert: The Sound of Magic will feature iconic scenes and characters from Walt Disney Animation Studios with classic soundtracks brought to life by the Novello Orchestra.
Disney fans will be able to experience moments from their favourite films including The Lion King, Beauty & The Beast, Frozen, Aladdin, Encanto, Moana, Alice in Wonderland and The Jungle Book.
Following on from its debut in the UK at the London Coliseum last year, Disney In Concert: The Sound of Magic will turn to the capital for a show at London Eventim Apollo on Thursday, June 13. Tickets will go on presale via Ticketmaster from Wednesday (February 21), with general sale beginning on Friday, February 23, at 10am. You can buy tickets here.
The show, which has been described as being a ‘truly sumptuous multimedia experience’ will see film scenes projected on a large screen with the Novello Orchestra playing along live in front of you.
The London show is the last in the tour but it will also be appearing Manchester, Bath, Nottingham, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Liverpool and Birmingham, before finishing up in Hammersmith on June 13.
Creative director Amy Tinkham, music director Giles Martin and arranger and orchestrator Ben Foster will all front up the special show. The show is suitable for all ages, but children under the age of five will not be permitted into the venue.

The news of the show comes only weeks after Disney announced a sequel to the popular animation film Moana. On Thursday, February 8, Disney dropped a surprise first trailer for the sequel that features Moana and the voice of Maui.
According to Disney, Moana 2 takes audiences on a new voyage with a “brand-new crew of unlikely seafarers”. Originally planned as a TV series, Disney boss Bob Iger revealed it would now be a full-length film.
He said: “We were impressed with what we saw, and we knew it deserved a theatrical release. The original Moana film from 2016 recently crossed 1 billion hours streamed on Disney+ and was the most streamed movie of 2023 on any platform in the U.S.”

Moana is available to stream now on Disney+. A standard Disney Plus membership with adverts costs £4.99 per month, while a standard membership without ads costs £7.99 per month.
