Legendary Disney composer Alan Menken is heading across the pond for his first ever UK solo show this Spring – and tickets go on sale this week. He’ll be taking to The London Palladium stage on March 9 for a magical evening of live music, storytelling and audience interaction.
Best known for writing timeless scores and songs for Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, The Little Mermaid, and Pocahontas, the one-off concert promises to be a night to remember. The EGOT winner will regale audiences with tales from his illustrious 40-year career, including personal anecdotes and the meanings behind each song.
Alan said: “I’m absolutely thrilled to be performing at the iconic London Palladium on March 9. It’s an incredible honour to bring my music to such a historic venue, and to be doing my very first solo show in the UK makes it even more special.
“I can’t wait to share the stories and songs that have been a part of my journey with such an amazing audience. London has always held a special place in my heart, and this show will be unforgettable!”
Outside of Disney, Alan has scored Marvel’s Captain America: The First Avenger and various stage musicals such as Newsies and Sister Act. His music will also feature in the highly-anticipated stage production of Hercules that’s coming to the West End in June.
Tickets for Hercules go on sale on Thursday, November 7. You can find out more about the ‘electrifying new musical’ here.
