On Little people, big worldZach Roloff had to win Tori’s father’s approval after the pair started dating in 2010. They met Tori while working at Roloff’s pumpkin farm and have been together ever since. They will celebrate their ninth anniversary next July. The couple dated for three years before Zach proposed to Tori in April 2014 and officially tied the knot 10 months later in July 2015. The couple started a family soon after and have since shared three children named Jackson, Lilah and Josiah.

Zach started the podcast with his wife, Tori Roloff, after they made a personal decision to leave the reality show that catapulted Zach and the rest of his family to stardom. Although Little people, big world has been considered one of the best reality TV series available at the moment, Zach and Tori have made a name for themselves outside the parameters and limitations of the show. This career change aligned well with their family’s general reorientation as they moved to Washington (and, more importantly, away from the rest of the Roloff family in Oregon).

On their podcast Raising Heights with Zach and Tori, the happily married couple recently aired an episode titled “The Truth Behind Mixed Height Dating,” in which Tori recalls preparing for her first date with Zach. He showed her a picture of her father, to which she immediately reacted negatively. She told Tori that Zach was not the guy she pictured to him – but she was able to notice their height difference after meeting Zach and getting to know him more. Tori says her whole family now likes Zach more than her.

Zach explains on the podcast that after attending a private Christian school in Oregon for 12 years, he adapted to the “6-inch rule,” which requires two people of different genders to sit six inches apart. She also blames her anti-PDA on her height, claiming she was used to her own personal space. Zach still gets nervous when Tori tries to hold hands in public, and early on in their relationship, Tori was offended by the need for space compared to friends. He likes it now though.

People questioned Tori’s motives

Before Zach and Tori left the show, people questioned why Tori was with Zach, accusing her of perhaps shallow intentions (like chasing gravity) and an out-of-control ego like Caryn Chandler. Tori addressed speculation that she was only interested in Zach because of his success Little people, big world. Fortunately, Zach’s positive relationship with Tori’s family gives the duo an emotional support system.
