Jasmine first thought of becoming a pageant queen after flying to Miami to celebrate her 38th birthday and meeting her Panamanian friend Leandro. Jasmine didn’t feel loved anymore because Gino didn’t give her the closeness she expected. Her mother had just been diagnosed with cancer, and Jasmine didn’t know when her sons were coming to America. This resulted in Jasmine facing severe hair loss. Leandro wanted to see “old Jasmine“back. She introduced Jasmine to a friend who hosts workshops for a beauty pageant. Jasmine attended Ms. International World’s workshop and finally found her purpose.

Gino did not support Jasmine’s dreams because he refused to pay the entry fees until the last moment, when his wife had to beg and plead.
