Delamina (Marylebone) and Delamina East (Shoreditch) founders Limor and Amir Chen have revealed plans for their third restaurant, Delamina Townhouse, opening on Monday 28 October 2024 in Covent Garden. Limor Chen, the creative visionary behind the restaurants’ unique cuisine, recently published his debut cookbook, My Tel Aviv Table. His culinary style is inspired by his diverse heritage, offering a menu that blends the vibrant flavors of the Eastern Mediterranean with a health-focused approach. The dishes emphasize grilling and roasting, accentuated by the region’s fragrant herbs and spices. Chens current restaurants enjoy a devoted following, and the Covent Garden location features a combination of their signature dishes and fresh, innovative creations. Guests can enjoy an à la carte menu for both lunch and dinner, as well as the beloved Eastern Mediterranean-style brunch on weekends. In addition, there is a special pre- and post-theatre menu. Delamina’s classic dishes include favorites such as charred cauliflower with lemon-infused crème fraîche, pomegranate molasses and seeds; Beef shawarma with dates, pine nuts and a salad of house pickles, vegetables, herbs and tahini; and their wildly popular Kadayif nest filled with vanilla cheesecake cream, caramelized pecans and a citrusy orange peel reduction. These classic dishes are enhanced with exciting new additions such as Araki-dried sea trout with a mixture of herbs and foamed labneh; Za’atar marinated seafood grilled on a plancha, served with golden beetroot aioli; Herb leek koftas on skewers with pistachio cream and sour berry; and a decadent parfait of candied macadamia nuts, Irish cream and rose petals. The menu is paired with a curated drinks list featuring distinctive small wines from across the Mediterranean, as well as house cocktails infused with the same aromatic ingredients used in the kitchen, offering a seamless combination of flavors from plate to glass. The restaurant is located in a Grade II listed Georgian townhouse where Limor and Amir have carefully preserved the building’s original layout and period features, but have used elements that reflect their love of light and texture. Soft furnishings, neutral tones and plenty of natural light together create a warm and inviting atmosphere. The space can accommodate 110 guests in several dining areas, including a spacious dining bar, two fireplace rooms, several private dining rooms and a small outdoor terrace. As a chef and an experienced artist, Limor has also created site-specific works of art for the restaurant, which blend seamlessly into the environment. His art enhances the overall aesthetic, adding depth and personality to the dining experience. Amir Chen said: “Limor and I have been searching for several years for the perfect location to further develop Delamina’s style of cooking and hospitality. When we came across this beautiful townhouse in Covent Garden, it was love at first sight; we were captivated by the bright interiors, period features and of course the central location instantly and being named Delamina’s Townhouse was a natural boost. We can’t wait to bring our kitchen to this vibrant part of London with its diverse mix of locals, businesses, tourists and theatergoers. We’ve loved developing this new sister menu and space to our restaurant family by bringing all-time excitement next to your favorites in a beautifully designed environment.
