Lauper-loving Londoners, you’re going to want to hear this. Hot on the heels of her Glastonbury announcement; pop royalty, Cyndi Lauperhas revealed that she will also be popping into the capital city this summer to perform a (hugely excitement-inducing) one-night-only show. It turns out girls really do just want to have fun.

When and where is Cyndi Lauper performing in London?

The iconic performer will be gracing the stage of London’s Royal Albert Hall a mere 29 years after last performing there. She will be performing her catalogue of timeless hits with her full band for one night (and one night only) on June 26; serenading the city with the likes of ‘True Colors’, ‘Time After Time’ and – of course – ‘Girls Just Want To Have Fun’.

A pioneer in the world of pop, Lauper has sold over 50 million records worldwide and has an awards-cabinet bursting at the seams. Her instantly recognisable voice, innovative and influential style and infectiously energetic live performances catapulted her to fame in the 80s and paved the way for her hugely successful career.

Lauper’s debut album, ‘She’s So Unusual‘ led her to becoming the first woman in history to have four top-five singles from a debut album. Since then, the pop-icon has released 10 studio albums, been nominated for countless awards and been the worthy recipient of Grammy, Emmy and Tony Awards. If all that wasn’t enough, in 2013 Lauper also became the first solo woman to win Best Original Score (music and lyrics) for Kinky Boots.

Cyndi Lauper commented: “I haven’t played at the Royal Albert Hall since 1995, when I was there for my 12 Deadly Cyns tour, I was dressed like a Queen surrounded by Queens singing Hey Now Girls Just Wanna Have Fun in all my glory!

I had a blast. And not only is the Royal Albert Hall one of the most important music venues but over 20 Suffragette rallies were held there! That makes it great for me”.

Tickets for the show will go on sale on Thursday, March 28 from 10am via the Royal Albert Hall Box Office, so mark your calendars and set your alarms, folks.
