Cyndi Lauper has just announced the UK leg of her Girls Just Wanna Have Fun farewell tour, her first major tour in over a decade. The American singer-songwriter will play a five-date run across England, Scotland and Northern Ireland next year.

And she’ll be stopping by London’s The O2 on Tuesday, February 11. Fans can access the pre-sale starting today (Wednesday, June 26).

General tickets go on sale Friday, June 28 at 10.00 – you will be able to get them via Ticketmaster. Throughout the tour, the artist will be joined by special guests, to be revealed at a later date.

The news follows the release of Let The Canary Sing, a feature-length documentary exploring Cyndi Lauper’s life and career. The Grammy, Emmy and Tony Award winner has sold more than 50 million records since launching her career in the early 80s.

She won the Grammy Award for Best New Artist with her debut album, She’s So Unusual, and became the first woman in history to have four top-five singles from a debut album including her anthem “Girls Just Want To Have Fun”. Since then, she has released ten other studio albums, including classics such as “Time After Time” and “True Colors”.

The pop star has also become known for her advocacy work. This includes speaking out for the rights of women, people living with HIV/AIDS and the LGBTQ community.
