Policy Chairman at the Corporation, Chris Hayward, said:

“The Review rightly acknowledges the intrinsic link between national and economic security; the Corporation makes crucial contributions to both.

“By backing Armed Forces Reservists; using our convening power to enable access to finance for defence firms and, above all, continuing the City’s significant contribution to the UK economy, we are proud to play our part.

“The Police – which has national responsibilities in tackling fraud, economic and cyber crime – is another vital asset, providing advice and services to businesses of all sizes on how to improve their resilience to persistent online threats. Maintaining a safe and secure environment for firms is vital for driving inward investment into the Square Mile and beyond.

“Combining these efforts, the Corporation will continue to work closely with Government to increase the UK’s overall economic security and resilience in an increasingly uncertain world.”
