Christine married Kody when he was only 21 years old. As Kody’s third wife, she had to adjust to marriage and young motherhood while managing relationships with her sister-wives. Christine’s sudden romance with David made her children uncomfortable

The couple moved in together soon after the meeting

Christine and David met online less than a year after she left Kody. They started dating in late 2022 and their relationship grew quickly. Christine and David moved in together in the spring and, to the shock of their families, announced their engagement in April 2023.

Although David made a good impression on Christine’s six children, they were understandably hesitant to accept him into their lives. Christine had already endured a very painful marriage and divorce. His children were worried that he didn’t have enough time to heal and learn what he deserved. The rapid speed of Christine and David’s romance only added to their worries.

Christine’s daughter Ysabel Brown had the hardest time accepting David, fearing that he would try to replace her father. Mykelti Padron, Christine’s second oldest daughter, exposed her mother’s hypocrisy after Christine resented Mykelti’s own brief engagement. Although all of Christine’s children ultimately supported her relationship with David, they noted how sudden the new romance felt.

Christine wants to be “theatrical”

Her son referred to Christine’s need to be the center of attention

Christine’s only son, Paedon Brown, did not hold back his criticism after his mother’s engagement to David. Paedon commented Sister wives that Christine had always been”theatrical” and enjoyed making a large sum from his advertisement. Christine and David’s engagement has become the main focus Sister wives season 19. The show followed the couple as they bought a home, rings, a wedding cake and Christine’s dress. The disproportionate focus on Christine makes the audience feel that she has become the main character of the show.

Kody’s four wives used to be central characters Sister wives as they balanced marriage, children and their relationships with each other. The end of Kody’s marriages to Meri, Janelle and Christine gave them an opportunity to show viewers how they would rebuild their lives after polygamy. But when David came into the picture, the show changed direction. It’s now mainly about David and Christine, with Kody and most of the Brown kids making infrequent appearances.

He could star in his own show

Christine’s excitement about her new relationship is calculated. She’s always been a bubbly person, and it’s clear that she’s happier than ever after leaving Kody. But Christine puts too much emphasis on her relationship with David. Her new, monogamous romance is inappropriate on a show that originally chronicled her polygamous marriage to another man. The focus on Christine and David suggests they may be aiming for their own chain.

The show’s new direction makes viewers crave updates about Kody’s other wives. Janelle has a fiercely independent spirit and it would be interesting to see more of how she builds life on her own terms. Meri, Kody’s long-suffering first wife, was the head of the Brown family, now finally finding herself. Kody’s remaining marriage to Robyn has also sparked interest, as it’s unclear whether they’ve finally found their happily ever after or whether their marriage will soon break up as well.

Christine enjoys bringing viewers as she finally gets to experience everything she had to give up in polygamy, including celebrating committed love with a traditional marriage. But her obsession with David and their new life together feels forced at times. Christine exaggerates her new life in hopes that if she gets enough attention, she and David will leave. Sister wives behind to star in his own spin-off.
