Nothing can be quite as magical as a trip to the theatre, and this year there will be no shortage of shows for Gloucestershire locals to choose from.

From musicals and pantomimes to comedies and ballet, there will be popular classics, as well as new editions for visitors to look forward to.

All of them will be performed at the Everyman Theatre in Cheltenham during 2024 – with tickets for the next 12 months’ worth of shows available to book now.

The theatre will be putting on some of its own incredible productions for audiences, including A Midsummer Night’s Dream, which will allow them to enjoy Shakespeare’s renowned play in an exciting and immersive new way.

The show will be running at the theatre’s main house between Thursday, March 21 and Saturday, March 30, 2024, before going on tour at other venues across the UK. Afternoon and evening shows will be available on selected dates at either 2pm or 7pm – and tickets start from just £15.

Another one of its homegrown spectaculars this year will be its pantomime Aladdin. The production will be running between Friday, November 29, 2024, and Sunday, January 12, 2025, with tickets starting from £10.

Other acts coming to the screen in 2024 include Shrek The Musical, Shape of You: The Music of Ed Sheeran, Peter Pan Goes Wrong, The Addams Family, Life of Pi, Pride and Prejudice, The Kite Runner, Bonnie & Clyde, Jesus Christ Superstar, Hairspray, Peppa Pig: Fun Day Out, and Drop The Dead Donkey: The Reawakening.

About Everyman Theatre

The Everyman Theatre in Gloucestershire was originally designed by renowned Victorian architect Frank Matcham. Although it isn’t one of his first designs, it’s the oldest theatre created by the architect which is still in public use today.

The theatre took six months to build and was founded in 1891. Since then, it has undergone several refurbishments which took place in the 1960s and the 1980s, before it was finally reverted to its original design a decade ago.

The theatre was first built with a capacity for 1,500 people, which today has been cut down to 700 to accommodate comfortable seating for guests. Performances are either held in the theatre’s Main House or the Irving Studio Theatre. The venue is also home to a café bar, restaurant, and director’s lounge to accommodate visitors.
