Boy Hall in Ashford, Kent, has appointed Tim Batchelor as its first manager as the facility looks to improve its welfare and accommodation services amid expansion plans.
The nine-bedroom mansion hotel, located in a 17th-century Grade II listed building, was opened in the summer of 2022 by husband and wife duo Brad and Kristie Lomas.
Before Batchelor took over, Brad was responsible for overseeing the hotel’s management.
Batchelor comes to the Boys Hall from Pig Hotels where he spent the last eight years in management roles, mainly in the bar. In his new role, he will work closely with Boys Hall head chef Charlie Dilworth as the hotel prepares for “some exciting new changes” later this year.
The hotel, awarded two AA rosettes, is set to expand its accommodation by doubling the number by adding nine new bedroom cottages to the garden. In addition, there are plans for a wilderness spa with a treatment room, sauna, whirlpool and plunge pool.
In addition, the old stable is to be turned into an antique barn, and the addition of a workshop space and outdoor kitchen is in the works for outdoor events and flower shop classes.
Batchelor said: “I am thrilled to be joining such a passionate team at Boys Hall and look forward to embarking on this exciting new chapter for the hotel. Boys Hall has already been recognized with so many prestigious awards, I hope to build on its many wonderful achievements.
