The London Eye has been reading leaplings’ minds, and is gifting them exactly what they’ve always wanted this year. The iconic landmark is allowing those born on February 29 to ride for free on their birthday. Sure, you may only get a birthday once every four years, but at least there’s this. I guess?
As birthday celebrations go, staring out at the London skyline is a pretty good way to spend the day! Just head to the ticket office on the South Bank with proof of your date of birth (a passport, driving license or birth certificate) and you’ll be free to board one of the Eye’s pods at no cost to you. The rest of your party will have to pay, but who cares? This day is all about you.
The offer is available to the first 100 claimants, and is only valid on February 29.
Imran Tauqir, General Manager at the London Eye, said:
We wanted to do something special for the 5 million people worldwide who were born on the 29th of February and offer them the chance to celebrate their quadrennial birthday in true London style – with a trip around the iconic London Eye! We invite all those born on this lucky day to come down and experience the best view of the city while soaring about the Thames.”
