Police launched an appeal to trace the man after he went missing in January
A body found near London’s border is believed to be that of a man who vanished nearly two months ago in Old Windsor, investigators have said.
Thames Valley Police launched an appeal to find missing Christopher, 41, who was last seen on CCTV at around 9.45pm on Thursday, January 15, at a BP garage on Straight Road, Old Windsor.
Christopher had links to Wraysbury in Surrey, as well as other parts of Surrey, and Thames Valley Police stated they were “concerned for his welfare” in an appeal launched three days after he the footage was captured.
Yesterday (Sunday, March 8), the force revealed they had been informed of a body recovered from water in the Chertsey area of Surrey.
Thames Valley Police stated: “Formal identification of the man has not yet taken place but it is believed to be missing man Christopher, aged 41 from Old Windsor who was reported missing on 17 January 2026. Christopher’s next of kin have been informed.
“A file is being prepared for the coroner and there does not appear to be any suspicious circumstances surrounding the death.
“Our thoughts remain with the family of Christopher’s family at this difficult time.”
