After heavy teasers, K-Pop superstars and quartet BLACKPINK have just announced a world tour for this summer which includes a singular date in the UK: London’s Wembley Stadium.
They will take to the stage in the capital on Friday, August 15on a run that also includes dates in Barcelona, Paris, Goyang, New York, Tokyo and more. Watch the full announcement video below:
BLACKPINK is a four-piece from South Korea made up of Jisso, Rosé, Jennie, and Lisa. They are currently the most followed all-female group on Spotify, and reached number one on the UK album chart with their second record BORN PINK in 2022. There is no word yet on whether the world tour announcement will mean new music from the group, with rumours of a follow-up to BORN PINK rumoured.
The group last played London in 2023, when they headlined Hyde Park BST, in the same year they became the first Asian act to headline Coachella. After this summer’s show, BLACKPINK will also be the first K-Pop act to have headlined London’s Wembley Stadium. This announcement also comes just after the first episode of The White Lotus season three aired in the US on Sunday (February 16) night, which features Lisa from BLACKPINK as a central character in the show.
