Saturday 28 March sees the return of The Big Night Of Musicals on BBC One.

Get ready for a celebration of the UK’s musical theatre scene, with performances, sneak peeks, interviews and more from shows across the West End, currently on tour and even some being staged later this year.

Best Actor in a Musical nominees Andy Nyman & Marc Antolin will perform

The show will feature exclusive performances from Sam Ryder in his upcoming leading role in Jesus Christ Superstar and Alexandra Burke as Chaka Khan in I’m Every Woman.

You can also see two of this year’s Olivier Award nominees in action.

Victoria Hamilton-Barrittnominated for Best Actress in a Supporting Role in a Musical, will be performing Pretty Little Dead Things. The song comes from the highly acclaimed Paddington The Musicalwhich is tied as the most nominated show at this year’s awards, with 11 nominations including Cunard Best New Musical.

Four-time nominees The Producers will also perform. In a rare achievement, both leads of the Mel Brooks musical – Marc Antolin and Andy Nyman – have been separately nominated for Best Actor in a Musical. They’ll be putting any competitive feelings to one side on the night, as they perform a joint number from the Best Musical Revival-nominated show.

It’s not just new shows that are appearing. You’ll also be able to watch songs from fan favourites Oliver!, Wicked and Disney’s The Lion King.

Speaking of Disney, the show will feature a special celebration of composer Alan Menkenwho wrote many iconic Disney soundtracks for both screen and stage, including Disney’s Hercules.
