Below Deck Sailing Yacht producers should have edited Gary King Out (he ruins the show)

Gary King returned as first officer Sailboat below deck season 5, but the producers made a mistake in hiring him for the second order. The controversial actor was involved in a fiery love triangle Sailboat below deck season 4, causing a breakup in his relationship with Chief Stew Daisy Kelliher and former Chief Engineer Colin Macrae. When Daisy is back for another season, Colin sails around Fiji on a catamaran. Instead of rehiring Gary, he should have at least been retooled.

Gary and Daisy have already summed it up Sailboat below deck season 5 where a tearful Daisy demands more from her friendship with Gary. Although Gary claimed that he was also hurt by how things turned out, Daisy expressed that she needed him after breaking up with Colin. They’ve already had power struggles, but luckily for Gary, Daisy seems ready for war with 22-year-old chef Cloyce Martin after two chaotic dinners. However, Gary is still undoubtedly the main character in the film Sailboat below deck season 5 cast.

He was hardly reprimanded after the incident

Gary was accused of sexual misconduct Samantha Suarez, Bravo’s makeup artist, but she wasn’t fired. In fact, he was hardly reprimanded. Samantha claimed that when the production asked her to escort Gary back to her room after filming Confessions, she engaged in sexual abuse, including unwanted advances and inappropriate touching. He managed to escape but was shocked by the incident.

The incident happened off-camera and Gary later doubled down, insisting the abuse never happened and refusing to apologise. Bravo producers came under fire for how they handled the allegations, and not inviting Gary to BravoCon 2023 seemed like a weak attempt to distance himself from the reality TV star. However, Sailboat below deck season 5 had already reportedly been filmed, with Gary continuing his role as Chief Officer.

There was curiosity about how prominently Gary would feature in the latest installment, given the seriousness of the allegations and his troubled past on the show. However, when the cast was announced, Gary didn’t appear to be edited at all. The season took a lot longer to roll out than usual, but Bravo decided not to erase Gary from the Season 5 storyline.

They kept him going for season 5 and didn’t edit him at all. Already, Gary’s story is at the forefront: his relationship with Daisy, berates lazy and incompetent deckhands, and even capsizes the boat. There could also be some interesting dynamics at play if Chef Cloyce decides to continue pursuing Daisy, as Gary admitted that he still has feelings for Daisy.

It’s unclear if she’ll continue in the lead role as the season progresses, but she’ll likely continue as a main character. Parsifal III doesn’t have a large crew due to the small size of the sailboat, and there are only so many stories to focus on. There is no way to edit Gary out of the show, and the Bravo producers probably should have scrapped the entire season. When filming started, it was too late to reduce Gary’s role.

From a business and entertainment perspective, it doesn’t make sense. Sailboat below deck waited over a year to release the latest seasonand fan attention definitely waned during that time. Dismissing the season as a statement did not make financial sense. Even though Gary has been behaving badly, there probably wasn’t much the producers could do to fix his prominent presence on the show.

Sailboat below deck the producers would be wise to focus on life in Parsifal III from Daisy’s perspective and move away from Gary. Many other new Actors could rise to the same star level as Gary. He should not be called back Sailboat below deck season 6, but the producers can’t do anything for season 5. Hopefully, fans will continue to tune in after Gary leaves.
