In addition, the first impression rose spiral draws a lot of attention to the recipient of the leadership position, which may put him at odds with other women. The Bachelor the producers love the drama in the seriesand this twist can make the first impression of the recipient of the rose the target of other women’s hatred. Hopefully that won’t happen, but it’s definitely a possibility.

Our Take on The Bachelor Season 29 First Impression Rose Twist

This turn can hurt through Grant

It is unfortunate that Bachelor the producers didn’t learn from their mistakes in the twists of the last two seasons. Before Zach Shallcross’s season started, they had America vote one of the five contestants to receive America’s first impression rose, meaning the recipient would be safe at the first rose ceremony. Brianna Thorbourne won the rose, but she felt embarrassed because America chose her, not Zach. In the end, he withdrew from the race himself.

Additionally, through Joey Graziadei, former contestant Lea Cayanan received an envelope that she was not allowed to open until the premiere. When she finally opened it, Lea discovered that it contained a card that allowed her to steal personal dates from all the women up to Joey’s hometown date. Lea didn’t want to hurt her competitors and didn’t want to force Joey to go on a date if he had chosen someone else, so she burned the card in the fireplace of the Bachelor Mansion, thus ending the cycle before it started.

8 Terrible Bachelor Dates That I Hope Won’t Appear On Grant Ellis’ Season (The Show Needs A Renewal)

In the past, The Bachelor has forced the leader and his contestants to go through terrible dates. Hopefully Grant Ellis’ season will be different.

The Bachelor the producers have now come up with a twist that Grant and the ladies can’t avoid. Grant must make a first impression rose, and in doing so, he also chooses his first personal date. It will be very interesting to see if this helps or hurts Grant in the long run. Quite often the winner of the first impression rose doesn’t get the first date, so this new twist changes everything. Hopefully Grant makes the right choice and it leads him to find his true love.

Bachelor premieres Monday, January 27 at 8pm EST on ABC.
