Andrew Garfield has revealed his favorite London restaurant and market in an interview with We Live in Time co-star Florence Pugh. The pair agreed to disagree on Garfield’s choice of market which he admitted was “controversial”.
The pair star in the emotional drama We Live in Time, which follows the love story of a young couple shaken by a cancer diagnosis. Although already released in the US, the UK release date is not until January 1, 2025.
The co-stars recently made headlines when Garfield brought a cardboard cutout of Pugh to the London Film Festival premiere of We Live in Time. Pugh was unable to attend the event due to scheduling conflicts.
But now Garfield has revealed his favorite London restaurant in an interview with his co-star on foodie website Infatuation and you might be surprised to hear he didn’t choose a chicken shop after his viral date with Amelia Dimoldenberg. Garfield’s best place is Belsize Park’s Cinder, a “cozy” spot that focuses on “fire-cooked” food. In the interview, Garfield said, “It feels very cozy and quaint and sweet and it’s in Belsize Park and it’s just wonderful.”
The restaurant says all their food is “kissed by flames” and serves smaller plates, with two to three recommended per person. There are options on the menu such as grilled eggplant with yogurt and rib-eye steak with Szechuan.
Garfield and Pugh also appear to have a minor disagreement in the interview, with Garfield admitting that his choice of London market is “controversial”. The pair are asked to choose between Borough or Camden Market, with Garfield choosing the latter. He says, “It’s my neighborhood, where I’ve been since I was 17.”
Born in California but raised in Epsom, Surrey, from the age of three, Garfield now reportedly lives in North London. Meanwhile, his co-star Florence reportedly lives in the trendy neighborhood of Notting Hill, while spending a lot of time in Los Angeles.
The co-stars also reveal Holy Cow, an Indian takeaway with several locations around the city, is their favorite Indian takeaway. They also have an Indian ‘fine dining’ restaurant in Canary Wharf where they serve classic dishes such as King Prawn Biryani and Mumbai Aloo.
Despite Holy Cow taking first place, Push and Garfield also reveal that they have been to the prestigious Mayfair Indian restaurant Bibi. The chef’s evening tasting menu there costs customers £125 per person.
