If you’re looking for a magically unique night out in Londonlook no further than The Magician’s Table. Taking the word ‘immersive‘ to a whole new level, this brand new up-close magic experience will have you captivated from the moment you step through the doors of the top secret London Bridge location.

Set at the memorial service of world-renowned showman and magician, Dieter Roterberg; the evening is a celebration of his life and legacy, led by his devoted wife, Calliope. The experience begins in the pre-show bar where guests can chat to the mingling magicians and share fond memories with Dieter’s closest friends and family. Guests are then ushered upstairs and sat at their tables inside Dieter’s private theatre to experience one final night of mystery and magic. I had absolutely no idea what to expect from the evening – but I certainly didn’t leave disappointed.

Over the course of two hours, a series of magician’s join your table to perform some up-close (and utterly enthralling) table-side magic. From mind-reading and mentalism to sleight-of-hand and – to my horror – syringes; we’re not talking children’s party rabbit-in-a-hat magic. These are members of the actual Magic Circle performing i-can’t-believe-this-is-happening-in-front-of-my-very-eyes magic (I don’t know if that’s the official name for it, but it should be).

The evening is underscored by some very enjoyable live music (courtesy of the in-house musical maestro, Ellis) and some less enjoyable shrieks of shock and delight (courtesy of me and the other members of my table). I spent the majority of the two hours in disbelief at both what I was witnessing and the fact that I was expected to be able to put it into words for this article. It really is one of those things that has to be seen to be believed.

The experience has been conjured up by Right Angle Entertainmentin collaboration with writer, Iain Sharkey (who is BAFTA and Olivier award-winner – no biggie). The rest of the creative team are equally as impressive, and so it’s no surprise that it was a complete hit. The impressive collection of participating magician’s include the likes of Dee Christopher, Andrew Frost, Harry De Cruz, Richard McDougall, Nick Stein, Maxwell Pritchard, Martyn Rowland, Pete Heat, James Went, and Gareth Kalyan. Each table is treated to some tricks from seven of these magicians throughout the event – and every one of them will have you reeling.

Throughout the evening, expertly-crafted cocktails are delivered directly to the tables – which is great because your mouth will be dry from being on the floor in shock for most of the night. The cocktail menu features delicious twists on the classics, such as a cinnamon espresso martini and a raspberry gin fizz.

The Magician’s Table really has concocted the perfect recipe for a magical evening in the capital city. If you decide to book a ticket – you’re in for an absolute treat.

The Magician’s Table is playing until February 2025 and tickets start from £35. Find out more and plan your visit here.
