American Idol season 22 Top 10 finalist and country singer Mia Matthews announced new upcoming performance dates. Mia, a 19-year-old from Center, Alabama, earned her golden ticket by singing “No Place That Far” by Sara Evans. Her sister Jacy also made it to Hollywood, but she was eliminated in that round. all the time American Idol season 22, Mia sang beautiful renditions of country hits including Lainey Wilson’s “Wildflowers And Wild Horses”; “Those Memories Of You” by Dolly Parton, Linda Ronstadt and Emmylou Harris; “Over You” by Miranda Lambert; and “Nobody Needs to Know” by Shania Twain.
“So blessed to be doing what I love with the people I love!”
In an Instagram post Mia announced the upcoming show dates and said he would “so blessed to be able to do what I love with the people I love!” That’s because his trio Worth the Wait, made up of him, Jacy, and their mother, Tara, will be singing at his upcoming shows from June 29th to July 27th.
In addition, Mia will sing at the Franklin Summer Bash on July 20 with her friend American Idol season 22 contestants Kayko, Kaibrienne, McKenna Faith Breinholt, Quintavious and Sound season 25 contestant Maddi Jane.

Mia competed in the Worth the Wait contest Sound season 19. All four coaches – Kelly Clarkson, Gwen Stefani, John Legend and Blake Shelton – turned their chairs during their audition to Linda Ronstadt’s “When Will I Be Loved.” They made it to the Live Playoffs with their coach Blake. They performed after performing at the Grand Ole Opry Sound. During American Idol, Mia proved herself to be a phenomenal solo artist as well. When she performed a duet of George Strait’s “Run” during the finale with Luke, she seemed like a seasoned country star.
Mia recently performed at CMA Fest 2024with several American Idol alums. Among them were his friends American Idol season 22 runner-up Will Moseley and finalists Jack Blocker, Emmy Russell and Triston Harper, American Idol season 21 winner Iam Tongi and finalists Colin Stough and Haven Madison, American Idol season 20 runner-up HunterGirl and American Idol season 18 finalist Grace Leer. CMA Fest is a place for country artists, so this was a big opportunity for Mia.
It will be exciting to see Mia perform live after that American Idol. In the early days of the show, the finalists had the opportunity to travel the country together on tour, but this is no longer the case. It is very exciting that so many American Idol the season 22 contestants appear together at the Franklin Summer Bash because they were fan favorites.
