Alyssa Raghun’s American Idol Past Explained

This was Alyssa’s third time auditioning for American Idol. In 2019, at the age of 15, he earned a golden ticket to Hollywood during American Idol season 16. Alyssa made it to the top 24, but then got eliminated. The following year, he made it to the top 8 of the competition. Katy was determined to save him when he didn’t make the Top 10, and he lasted another week after that. Some of his performances included Paramore’s “Ain’t It Fun” and “Colors of the Wind” Pocahontas“She Used to Be Mine” by Sara Bareilles and “Somebody to Love” by Queen.

Although it looked like Alyssa stole Julia’s thunder, The judges had disqualified Julia before Alyssa even entered the room. It was sad to see Alyssa get the golden ticket in front of Julia, but Alyssa really did nothing wrong. He seemed a little manipulative to act like he was just there to support Julia and then audition, but Julia could have known about his plan all along. Interestingly, Alyssa was allowed to return to the competition after finishing in the Top 8 of the previous season. This will never happen because no one who made the Top 10 could return. However, eligibility rules changed over time American Idol season 19 Now everyone except the winner can return to compete. Actually, American Idol season 18 runner-up Arthur Gunn returned for season 19 after being voted in by fans in the Comeback Competition. American Idol

American Idol is a reality singing competition that complements the international “Idol” brand, which was originally conceived in the UK as Pop Idol. American Idol held massive auditions across the United States and invited several contestants to appear in front of a panel of judges who decided whether they would advance to future rounds for the chance to compete on the show’s fully televised premiere. The contestants would be voted on weekly by the American public by voting through various media, and the winner of the contest would be awarded a record deal to secure a future as America’s next musical idol.
