American Idol season 22 finalist Mia Matthews apologized to Shania Twain after she forgot the words to Shania’s song after the country superstar directed her on the show. Mia sang “No One Needs To Know” during “Songs From The Year of Your Birth” as part of American Idol season 22 Top 10. As a country singer, Mia had the honor of being Shania’s mentor. She was excited to sing the song and follow Shania’s advice to give the best possible performance. However, forgetting the words, Mia went home that night with Kayko.

In an Instagram post Mia said he was sorry to Shania for forgetting the lyrics to “No One Needs To Know.”“He shared a video of himself covering his face and looking embarrassed, as well as a clip of him hugging Shania and one from her. American Idol presentation.
Mia wrote, “How many aura points did I lose after meeting my literal idol, singing his song to him, then forgetting the words on national television.” The message caption reads, “I’m so sorry Shania ahahahaaa (crying emoji) still hasn’t made me watch this show back LMAO.”

In the comment section of his post Mia’s fans urged her to take a break. One fan wrote: “You’re a star…most people wouldn’t have known…go on. Don’t hold back…let it go.” Another said, “It’s not how we fall, it’s how we get back up. Your humility, the fact that you care…reveals your character…and that’s what people take away.” Many others reminded him that even the biggest stars have forgotten the words they saw in concerts. Other fans told him they didn’t even notice he forgot the words.
Mia’s fans are right that she should forget her mistakes and focus instead on what a great performer he is. all the time American Idol season 22, Mia sang beautiful renditions of country hits including Lainey Wilson’s “Wildflowers And Wild Horses”; “Those Memories Of You” by Dolly Parton, Linda Ronstadt and Emmylou Harris; and “Over You” by Miranda Lambert. All those shows brought the house down. Even “No One Needs To Know” was so good that many didn’t even realize Mia had forgotten the words until judge Luke Bryan pointed it out.
Mia has a bright future as a country star after American Idol. He recently performed at CMA Fest 2024 in addition to some of his other concerts with his trio Worth The Wait, which consists of him, his sister Jacy, and his mother Tara. Additionally, Mia will perform at the Franklin Summer Bash on July 20 with her pal American Idol season 22 contestants Kayko, Kaibrienne, McKenna Faith Breinholt, Quintavious and Sound season 25 contestant Maddi Jane. Mia may have forgotten the words to her idol Shania’s song American Idolbut his fans will never forget his amazing performances.
