Clare Kerr & Cameron Frazer, Austin Reed & Becca Haley, and Emily Balch & Brennan Shoykhet kept things under wraps during the season, coming out in full force both during and after the hectic closing day.
While the actual results on closing day weren’t too shocking, it was clear the couples had decided when they went to their final meeting with the experts. Clare and Cameron, who had been separated for most of the trial, were adamant about staying apart and eventually breaking up. Although Emily and Brennan had been on a path that seemed promising, they also ended up breaking up instead of working through their issues. Austin and Becca, who had a rough time leading up to the final day, decided to stay married and were hopeful of working through their issues.
Cameron has been covering for Clare
After finalizing the divorce, on the final day, Cameron and Clare met the others Married At First Sight season 17 aired as a group, but things quickly turned dramatic when Clare and Emily jumped to Becca’s defense against Austin. Although Brennan and Emily had a chance to rekindle their feelings for each other when they struggled through their marriage earlier in the year. MAFS season 17, it quickly turned sour. After Emily’s shocking accident, Brennan quickly tried to take care of her as best she could, but he was also sneaking around behind her back with other women, according to some others MAFS cast members. Emily said she was deeply hurt by the idea that Brennan was trying to set up a double date with Cameron behind her back and couldn’t trust Brennan because of it.
One of their last encounters Brennan explained that she could “ruin” Emily in public if she wanted based on some of the more private moments of their marriage. Although Emily was devastated by the accusation, she told Brennan that she realized she wasn’t the only one who had made mistakes in their marriage. Emily and Brennan finally seemed to realize that even though they hadn’t been able to make their marriage work, they had both been able to grow and change from their experience together.
