AF Blakemore & Son Ltd has appointed Steven Nuttall as the new CFO (CFO).

He follows Ian Kellet, who joined in July and is expected to retire at the end of May.

Nuttall brings an extensive experience of leadership and change in retail and FMCG because he has recently served as CFO of the Group at the Fresh Goods Business Flamingo Group.

His previous roles include a temporary CFO at ASDA and CFO CFO.

He joins AF Blakemore’s board and management team, taking responsibility for funding, property, IT and procurement.

“I want to thank Ian for his leadership of financial discipline, improved processes and systems in his time. Ian’s step away is really excited that Steven joins the AFB team,” said Carol Welch, CEO of Blakemore.

“He brings a wealth of retail leadership and financial expertise, which has a strong experience in growth in business profit, strategy and talent development, which makes him instrumental as we continue our long -term growth goals.”

While commenting on his new role, Nuttal said, “I am pleased to join AF Blakemore as CFO and work with Carol, Peter, the government and AFB team. It is an exciting time to return to the retail trade and look forward to being part of this great family business and ambitious growth plans in AF Blakemore.”
