Fairly OddParents: A New Wish Season 2 remains a huge question mark months after its first season ended.

The Nickelodeon sequel, which just made its long-awaited debut on Netflix, follows the original Pretty OddParentswhich centers on a young girl, Hazel, who is adopted as her godchild by the series’ iconic wish-fulfilling fairy godparents.

Season 1 ran from May to August of this year, with franchise character Timmy Turner conspicuously absent, and nothing has been announced about a second batch of episodes.

Fairly OddParents: New Wish Creator Season 2 Update

Fairly OddParents: A New Wish

Only because Nickelodeon has not commented on a possible second season Fairly OddParents: A New Wishdoes not mean that the creator of the program has taken the same oath of silence.

Series showrunner Lindsay Katai has spoken about the second season of the series Pretty OddParents continuation series from the middle of the first episode.

In June, a Nickelodeon ad posted in a now-deleted post on X (formerly Twitter) that fans hadn’t heard about Season 2 because the network was waiting “The verdict on the second season until the show moved to Netflix:”

“That was the plan, but then we found out they wouldn’t make a decision on a second season until the show went to Netflix, so…”

The series’ Netflix debut hasn’t come and gone, but there’s still no word on a second season. However, Katai is still hopeful.

In the beginning A new wishIn the Netflix release, Katai shared that fans should “Watch/rewatch the show when it’s released” and “As far as we know, there is *still* hope for Season 2:”

“The first half of Fairly OddParents: A New Wish hits Netflix in the US and many other countries this Thursday, November 14th! Watch/rewatch the show when it airs. As far as we know, there *is* still hope for a season 2.”

Katai reiterated this in a recent chat with What’s On Netflix, again making it clear that they don’t have a season 2 greenlight yet:

“Yeah, since Nickelodeon aired every episode we produced, we’ve been able to be very open about not having a second season yet. This is a spoiler for the first season (and only the first half of the first season is on Netflix starting November 14th, we don’t yet know when the second half is available for streaming.”

He added that if the show gets a second round of episodes, he would love to “Include Hazel’s friends and brother in the wishes now that they find out about fairies:”

“If we get a second season, I’m very excited to bring Hazel’s friends and brother into the wishes now that they’re learning about the fairies. That was a change in the DNA of the show that I was already brainstorming. I was so excited that they let us make that change, and then we didn’t get immediate pickup and I cried, ‘THEN WHAT DID EVERYONE NEED?'”

He joked, “I got pregnant in the third week of development (season 1)” and “My child is now two years old and we are still hoping for another season:”

“It was such a darkly comic thing to be able to open up the world like that and then have Papa Paramount say, ‘Actually, all shows now have to wait for viewership data before we get a decision on additional episodes.'” And for us, because Netflix was a production partner from the beginning, we had to wait Netflix premiere. Are you kidding me, Do you know how long it’s in its third week of development, and my kid is two now, and we’re still hoping for a second season.”

Katai finished by saying that “the best way for fans to help is to watch it on Netflix:”

“So anyway, the best way for fans to help is to watch it on Netflix, watch it all, watch it the first week, watch it AGAIN, tell everyone you know to watch it, and keep posting about the show on social media. The only way we can come back is if we have the numbers, and I sincerely hope we will return.”

Is Fairly OddParents: A New Wish Season 2 Happening?

After all, just like showrunner Lindsay Katai said, there is Fairly OddParents: A New Wish Season 2 happening depends on enough people watching it.

Most interesting is Paramount/Nickelodeon’s reliance on Netflix numbers, rather than relying solely on show viewership data on its linear networks.

Of course, Netflix has significant traction in the industry, being one of the biggest places people watch their content today.

However, the fact that the network uses third-party numbers at the end of the day in the series renewal decision does not happen normally.

But its Netflix performance is something to watch out for, as it shows something of a tail A new wish may be outside his earthly home.

Since debuting on Netflix on November 14, the show has managed to find an audience.

A new wish has broken into the service’s top 10 TV series in several major territories. In the United States, it immediately rose to the Top 10 and was initially at number 6.

If the series can keep up this kind of momentum, Nickelodeon just needs to rubber stamp Season 2.
